Background

Dr. Saleem M. Rana is a leading malariologist/vector control expert with national and international recognition. At present, he is working as an Assistant Professor, Medical Entomology Disease Vector Control Department (MEDVC) at HSA. He also teaches environmental health and health promotion to the MSPH students. Dr Rana started his career as entomologist in government of the Punjab in 1985. He spearheaded research and human resource development on Malaria, Leishmaniasis, Dengue, Bird flu, SARS, and ARI etc. He contributed to the National Treatment Strategy for Malaria and Vector Control. Dr Rana has held a number of technical posts in the Punjab health department and is on the board of editors of reputed journal in addition to having more than 20 publications in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Saleem has been involved in various research projects in an institutional as well as in individual capacity.
