Background
I am an Assistant Professor at the Health Services Academy , Islamabad . During my service at the Academy, I was awarded government-nominated scholarship for my Masters in Primary Healthcare in Thailand in 2003. In due course of time, I developed two major PC-1s for the Academy i.e PC-1 for sustainable development and construction of the permanent campus of the HSA, both of which got approved and are near completion now. During the Earthquake of 2005, I was given the opportunity on behalf of the HSA , to serve as In-charge of Disaster Management Coordination Cell of the Ministry of Health. I have worked extensively, while in the HSA, on Environmental Health issues and developed National Drinking Water Quality Standards for Pakistan , conducted numerous trainings and consultative meetings on the issue. The Academy is the point of focus for Healthcare Waste Management and I was able to develop the National Action Plan for Healthcare Waste Management for Pakistan along with a number of country-wide extensive trainings on the subject. I am also the Instructor and Coordinator for the Regional HOPE (Hospital Preparedness for Emergencies) Program. I was elected as a Fellow to the Royal Society for Public Health UK since May 2010. Currently I am doing PhD at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK .
