I graduated from the oldest and the most prestigious medical college in Pakistan, King Edward Medical College Lahore. After graduating in 1991, I did my House job in the Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Hospital Lahore in 1992. During House job I had the privilege of working with the legendary names in Child Health in Pakistan like Prof. Shaukat Raza Khan, Dr. Tariq Iqbal Bhutta, Dr. Fehmida Jalail and Dr. Shakila Zaman.

After House job, I joined the Punjab Social Security department, which is a prepaid health insurance system in Pakistan, and was posted, in District Attock in 1993 where I worked till 2000. Later on, I moved to Social Security Medical Center of Industrial area Islamabad. Then I worked as Additional Medical Superintendent and Acting Medical Superintendent of the Social Security Hospital I-12, Islamabad, before joining Health Services Academy Islamabad in August 2008.

I completed Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with Majors in Finance in 2000, Masters of Public Health (MPH) in 2002, from Health Services Academy Islamabad. I successfully completed the mandatory course work and examination of the PhD Management Sciences in 2005, and completed my PhD Thesis under supervision of Dr. Sania Nishtar S.I, FRCP, PhD.

I primarily teach courses on Health Systems Management, Health Policy, District Health Planning, Health Care Financing, Health Promotion, Hospital Management, Quality -Management in Health, Non-communicable Disease Prevention & Control

In addition to my responsibilities as teacher at the Academy, I am also the Coordinator of the Extended MSPH Program at the Health Services Academy Islamabad.

After my MPH studies I joined Heartfile which is a leading research based NGO in Pakistan , where I worked under supervision of Dr. Sania Nishtar S.I, FRCP, PhD. During the period 2003 to 2008, I had an opportunity of working on various research projects of Public health research at Heartfile Islamabad. I worked on the National Action Plan for NCD in Pakistan , the Gateway Paper on Health Systems in Pakistan , the Health Indicators of Pakistan, and various WHO research activities like PreMISE study, the Road Safety PC-1, National Health Policy draft, and many other research assignments.
