Am I eligible for the MSPH Programme?
Please check our section on eligibility criteria for details. We accept applicants from a variety of backgrounds, both medical and non-medical, but we do require at least three years' work experience in a public health-related setting.
When is the next session for the MSPH programme starting?
The new session is tentatively scheduled to start on January 15, 2007, in tandem with the start of the new semester at the Quaid-i-Azam University, whom we are affiliated with.
When is the application deadline?
The application deadline is November 1, 2006. The prospectus and admissions form are now available online.
When is the screening examination?
The screening examination is scheduled to be held about twenty days after the application deadline, i.e. on November 20, 2006. Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for the screening examination. Those who clear the screening examination will then be interviewed. International students not resident in Pakistan are exempted from the screening examination and interview, but will instead have to provide two letters of reference. Please see the page on international students for details. Foreign students who are resident in Pakistan will still have to take the test and be interviewed if short-listed.
How many students are you accepting?
We are accepting thirty students this year, an increase over the previous cap of twenty-four students. Selection is very rigorous and twenty-four students are typically selected out of about 1500 applicants. However, it is expected that this cap will be increased further over the next few years.

Where can I get the prospectus and admissions form from?
A prospectus and admissions form are now available. You can view the prospectus online, download it in PDF format, and download the admissions form in Word format. The latter may be edited in Microsoft Word, but please note that it must be printed out and added to the completed application that will be mailed to us.

Yes, there are some significant differences in the application procedures for international students. International students are exempt from the screening examination and interview, but are required to submit at least two letters of reference. The application deadline for international students is also extended, and is twenty days after the deadline for Pakistani and resident applicants, i.e. November 20, 2006. Please see the page on international MSPH applicants for details.
Are you providing any financial aid or stipends for the MSPH programme?
Stipends will be given to provide partial funding for students on a need-basis. These stipends will be awarded by a number of willing development organisations. These funds will be administered by the Health Services Academy directly. See the section on funding for more details.

Students who are admitted into the MSPH programme should submit a letter of application to the Registrar, Health Services Academy, stating the reasons they feel they should receive stipends or financial aid. Financial aid forms will be provided on request.
What is the duration of the MSPH programme?
The MSPH programme is a two-year programme, which includes 18 months of classroom teaching and a dissertation requiring full-time presence at the Academy, followed by a six-month practicum (on-the-job assignment), in which students proceed to their respective workplace and apply the skills that they learnt in the first three semesters. Please see the MSPH programme page for details about the programme, expanded course descriptions and dissertation guidelines.
