6 - 8, 2006
A national consultative workshop of various stakeholders in the Water Sector on the topic of National Drinking Water Quality Standards is being held on November 6 - 8, 2006.
The draft of the quality drinking water standards, to be finalized under the collaborative sponsorship of the World Health Organization and the Government of Pakistan, is available on the website in PDF format.

1, 2006
MSPH admissions have opened. The application
deadline for the MSPH
programme has been announced. The completed application
must be submitted by November 1, 2006.
The prospectus and
application form are now available on the website.
You can pick up a printed copy of the prospectus by visiting
HSA, or sending us a written request for a printed copy.
You can view the prospectus online,
download it in PDF
format, and download the admissions
form in Word format.
The screening examination is tentatively scheduled for
November 20, 2006.The new session of
the MSPH programme is expected to start on January
15, 2007. Note that the deadlines for non-resident
international students are 20 days later.

9 - 11, 2006
Note: This
course was postponed from the original dates of October
2 - 4, 2006.
A short course covering training on data analysis and
data management is scheduled to be held at the
Academy. The training course will cover topics such as
the principles of critically reading scientific papers,
the importance of research in public health, essentials
of proposal writing, study design, and choosing statistical
tools.

scheduled to be held at the Academy. The training course
will cover topics such as the principles of critically
reading scientific papers, the importance of research
in public health, essentials of proposal writing, study
design, and choosing statistical tools.

A short course on basic epidemiological and biostatistics
principles is being held at the Academy. The
agenda for the training course includes an introduction
to epidemiology, biostatistics, study designs, disease
burden measurement, and various methods of statistical
analysis.

BoG Meeting Covered in Pakistan Observer
The Pakistan Observer
ran a news story on the third meeting of the Board of
Governors on September 4, 2006. The Tenure Track System
was approved and a 25% teaching allowance suggested for
faculty members at the HSA.
