The Health Services Academy Board of Governors is a regulatory body that is responsible for academic, administrative and financial regulations at the Academy. The Board of Governors is scheduled to have its next meeting on September 4, 2006.

Tentatively, the agenda for this meeting includes the following major items:

The Board of Governors (BoG) is the highest supervisory body, governing the administrative, academic, and financial regulations of the Health Services Academy. Since all leading academic and research organizations require autonomous status in order to create an environment of academic excellence, the Ministry of Health promulgated an ordinance entitle Health Services Academy Ordinance, 2002 , put into place in November, 2002. Following the implementation of this ordinance from July 1, 2003, the Board of Governors has been supervising the overall affairs of the Academy.

We hope that this meeting of the Board of Governors will enable us to strengthen the HSA as an academic institution.

Current Status: The meeting has been held and was highly successful. The Board of Governors was enthusiastic about making necessary changes to assure that HSA becomes a leading accredited school of public health. A full news report will be up shortly.
