A short course on basic epidemiological and biostatistics principles is being organized by the Health Services Academy for participants from the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP). This short course is part of a series of courses being organized by HSA for the NACP, and is tentatively scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 1, 2006. Please note that this short course is not open to all, and only participants selected by the NACP are allowed to attend.

The course will be taught by Dr. Shakila Zaman and Dr. Saima Hamid, and about 15-20 participants from the NACP are expected.

The objectives of the NACP are the prevention of HIV transmission, safe blood transfusions, reduction of STD transmission, establishment of surveillance, training of health staff, research and behavioural studies, and development of programme management.
